The Georgetown University Ballroom Dance Team actively participates in ballroom competitions
on the east coast, around the country and sometimes abroad. The GUBDT
board is responsible for organizing participation and subsidizing the
cost of at least 2 competitions each semester to make sure that all our
members are able to attend. We also help coordinate details to enable
our dancers to participate in competitions which we don't officially
sponsor.
Competitions 101- Have fun dancing
- Cheering for your teammates is mandatory. If you have a voice at the end of a competition, you weren't cheering enough.
- Stay on syllabus. If invigilated, plead ignorance or talk your way out of it. or both. (resources: ISTD syllabus, NDCA syllabus)
