On Friday October 9, 2008 at 8pm in Copley Formal Lounge GUBDT will host the first ever Dancing with the Hoyas. In this event three faculty members: James Sandefur, partnered with Kelly Newman in a tantalizing tango; Tad Howard partnered with Katherine Hess for a wonderful waltz; and Sue Lorenson partnerd with Jeff Bolling for the chachacha. Also performing in showcase dances are a few advanced dancers: Vlad & Martina, Holly & Jeff, Sarah & Ben, Kelly & Tyler. Be sure to get your tickets this week in Red Square or reserve your tickets by e-mailing info.georgetown@ballroom.org and pick them up with payment at the door. Tickets are $7. |

Why should you join ballroom?- Reason #1: Bump'n'grinding really just doesn't cut it at diplomatic functions or fancy balls. Ballroom is a good life skill; you'll use it.

Ballroom at Maryland is having their annual Terp Ball next Saturday night and would love for anyone and everyone from GUBDT to attend. It is Saturday, May 2, at 8pm at Stamp Student Union (building Baby Bam Jammers competed in) and is sure to be a good time. Tickets are now on sale, $20/couple $15/single. Having ballroom withdrawal? Missing practices and chilling with the team? Then come join GUBDT at the National Mall for an awesome PICNIC AT THE MALL!!! To conclude a wonderful year in dance, we are having a picnic on the mall on the 28th. We will be meeting at 4:00 at the Rosslyn GUTS bus stop which is in front of Reynolds near the tennis courts. We will then proceed to the metro and take it to the mall where we will hang out, eat, and enjoy the sunset. Be sure to bring some good food, metro fare, and a frisbee or football or something. |

WE'RE GOING TO NATIONALS!!!!!
April 3 - 5, 2009
The Georgetown University Ballroom Dance Team will be competing in Baltimore for this years USA Dance National DanceSport Championship
Late Registration begins March 8, 2009 and results in an extra $50 competition fee, bringing the total to $100.

Actually, it's the same CCB, but it's at 7! And goes to 10!
So if you are going, we are meeting this Saturday at the front gates at 6:30pm.
As always, bring $8 if a student, $12 otherwise, and bus/metro fare.
And good luck to everyone who can't go because they'll be at MAC! |

Hey, dancers! This Friday, Dec. 5th, we are going to DuShor Dance
Studio (for those who have never been there, it's like CCB, just
different place, obviously:P )
I'm still waiting to hear if they
are having a social dance at DuShor that night, in which case we will
attend, dance a bit, then everyone not on a college ballroom team
leaves and we have the place to ourselves all night!
We are
getting kicked out at 8am, unfortunately. As in
have-to-be-out-the-door. Check back (or check your email) in the next
couple days for leaving-Georgetown time. We will most likely have
drivers so metro or bus will not be necessary.
